Based on the acclaimed, best-selling novel by Jonathan Safran foer, "Everything is Illuminated" tells the story of a young American Jewish man's quest to find the woman who saved his grandfather--in a small Ukrainian town that was wiped off the map by the Nazi invasion.
Poignant, pensive and profound, Everything Is Illuminated is one of those rare gems that'll genuinely make an impact and it's proof positive that Liev Schreiber is a directing talent well worth a place on watch-lists. One of the finest films of the year.

1, 2, 3, (Billy Wilder), United States, 1961

MacNamara is a managing director for Coca Cola in West Berlin in 1961, just before the Wall is put up. When Scarlett, the daughter of his boss, comes to West Berlin, MacNamara has to look after her, but this turns out to be a difficult task. After MacNamara has found out that Scarlett is seeing an East German communist named Otto, he goes to extreme lengths trying to conceal this from the girl's father in order to save his job.
Seldom pausing for breath, Billy Wilder's film is a crackling, mile-a-minute farce, taking satiric scattershots at Coca-Cola, the Cold War, Communist and capitalist hypocrisy, the German "war guilt”, and even Cagney's own movie image.

Funny, touching film and a genuine must see.
